As the blog title indicates our blog focuses on the changing cultures and representations of the East End of London.

The main thing we hope to get across in this blog is that when thinking about East London in its entirety, looking at the local businesses, cool cafés, vintage shops and ghetto’s, East London is undefinable. However, many people that visit this exciting side of the city and talk about it have their own views, opinions and ways of representing the area. We hope to challenge some of the hegemonic views connoted to the space of East London.

As Raban suggests, the city is like a theatre with a series of stages where individuals work their own distinctive magic and with this blog, we hope to have captured a lot of these stages that people and media representations have created.
