East is poor, west is posh, south is rough and north is intellectual.

The London Evening Standard recently published a survey that was carried out by YouGov that revealed Londoners’ views on where they live. A spokesman for YouGov stated “Out of this analysis emerges the distinct ‘brand’ of the four London sub-regions, revealing their reputation and often contradictory stereotypes associated with them.” (2014) Specifically, it emerged from the poll that an equal number of people believed East London to be “‘gritty’ as well as ‘up and coming’.” (2014)
